Washburn University Small Business Development Center

The Washburn University Small Business Development Center provides free and confidential one-on-one counseling and hosts low-cost small business seminars.

Located within the offices of the Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce at 120 SE 6th, Suite 110, Topeka, Kansas 66603, the SBDC's services complement those of the other partners in the One Stop Business Development Center.

SBDC staff can help their clients learn the basics of a business plan, cash flow projections, and options for obtaining financing. Their seminars address such issues as record-keeping, marketing, taxes, QuickBooks, and business planning. The seminars are designed in a series to help take the prospective entrepreneur from successful startup to operations to growth of the venture.

The staff at the SBDC has varied business backgrounds, including small business ownership, and can step the entrepreneur through management, marketing, and finance issues. Consultants through the SBDC are available on an appointment basis.
