Mission: To develop strategies and tools to promote positive image of Topeka's business climate and quality of life within Topeka and across the country.

Goal:
Create a positive image of Greater Topeka's Business Climate.
Strategy: Maintain the Chamber's website to insure current information about the Greater Topeka area is readily available.
Action Plan:
  • Update website design and content.
Strategy: Provide Chamber members access to "Jobs In Topeka" information via the Chamber website.
Strategy: Promote Chamber members among themselves and throughout community.
Action Plan:
  • Business Expo.
  • Buy from Chamber Members Campaign.
  • Annual Meeting.
  • Electronic, social media and print communications.
Strategy: Promote the successes within the Topeka Business Community.
Action Plan:
  • Prepare annual report of Chamber and GO Topeka activities.
  • Publish monthy print newsletters, Topeka Business.
Strategy: Demonstrate that Topeka's Cost of Living is lower than the national average and is a good "buy" for our citizens and potential newcomers.
Action Plan:
  • Participate in the ACCRA cost of living study in January, April and July.

Goal: Promote the Chamber of Commerce within the Topeka Community via Ambassadors.
Strategy: Provide ribbon cutting and groundbreaking ceremonies for area businesses.
Strategy: Assist with and participate in community and Chamber events.

Goal: Encourage media participation in marketing Topeka.
Strategy: Send media releases and alerts about Chamber and GO Topeka events.
Strategy: Respond to media requests for information and stories.


Goal: Assist in promoting community events, activities and programs.
Strategy: Support promotional efforts of community assets.
Action Plan:

  • Represent the Chamber for community activities and initiatives.

Goal: Inform membership of Chamber actions, projects and other business issues.
Strategy: Publish a monthly newsletter targeted to membership.
Strategy: Regular electronic and social media communications.


Goal: Provide information about Topeka to potential newcomers.
Strategy: Continue to increase information content of the annual Relocation Guide and Chamber website.
Strategy: Encourage Chamber member firms to use the Chamber's newcomer packet for new employees.


Goal: Create an image of Topeka as an outstanding city-a safe, quality place to live, work, worship, raise children and have fun.
Strategy: Facilitate discussion and dialogue about how to improve Topeka's image among Topeka and Shawnee County citizens and those outside the community.Provide information about Topeka to potential newcomers.
